Charitable Events on the Lake

About

On Saturday December 16th, a flotilla of beautifully decorated boats will process along Lake Hickory beginning with caroling at 6:00 pm in Bethlehem at Lakeside Marina and processing westward to make landfall around 7:45 pm at Lake Hickory Marina (6706 Limbaugh Lane, Hickory NC 28601).

Please note that all times are approximate because travel times for the flotilla along the river can vary.  Participating boaters should rally at Lakeside Marina between 5:45 and 6:00 then line up behind the “big boat” for the parade.  Spectators can enjoy the parade and listen to caroling from 5 different publicly available locations:

– 6:00 Lakeside Marina (81 Marina Dr, Hickory, NC 28601) – at the Hwy 127 Bridge

– 6:15  Wittenburg Wildlife Area (89 Wildlife Access Rd, Hickory, NC 28601)

– 6:45 Lovelady Wildlife Area (6162 Rocky Mt Rd, Granite Falls, NC 28630)

– 7:45 Lake Hickory Marina (6706 Limbaugh Lane, Hickory NC 28601) – at the Hwy 321 Bridge

Santa & Mrs. Claus will be riding the Lake Hickory Adventures yacht at the lead of the parade and will stay aboard after the parade dockside at Lake Hickory Marina to visit with families and children to discuss their Christmas wishes.

Parents are invited to bring their children out to enjoy the caroling and parade from any of the viewing locations and to come aboard the Lake Hickory Adventures yacht free of charge at Lake Hickory Marina to visit with our distinguished guests from the North Pole around between 7:45 and 9:00 pm.

Feel free to stop into Santa’s Marina Workshop at Lake Hickory Marina (6706 Limbaugh Lane, Hickory NC 28601) to warm up with something yummy to drink and something sweet to nibble on during and after the parade – compliments of two of Santa’s happiest and most industrious elves Troy and Janet “Kringle”.  Hot cider, sweet cookies and rivers of Christmas cheer will greet all who come to celebrate.

Please note that there is no charge for anything this evening – the entire event exists as a gift to the families and children of our community.  The children from the Southmountain children’s home are guests of honor during the parade, riding along with Santa and Mrs. Clause, and they welcome you to come aboard at Lake Hickory Marina after the parade.  As you prepare to board you will hear a familiar bell ringing and see a red donation kettle for the Salvation Army of Hickory – please consider coming prepared to give generously from what you have to those who have not.

Most importantly, if you want to know more about the Joy we celebrate at Christmas or want to have more of it in your life, please ask any of the crew at Lake Hickory Adventures and we will help you.  Or you can read about it here…  https://www.biblestudytools.com/topical-verses/christmas-bible-verses/

We wish a Merry Christmas to all and to all a good night!!!

“And the angel said unto them, Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people. For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord. And this shall be a sign unto you; Ye shall find the babe wrapped in swaddling clothes, lying in a manger” (Luke 2:10-11)

“For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders. And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace”  (Isaiah 9:6)

“..If you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.” (Romans 10:9)
